Course Description:
Comprehensive review of nutrient flow in animal agricultural systems, environmental regulations, and environmental stewardship practices.
Having completed AGECO 418, the student will be able to:
- Describe the various manure storage and handling systems for each of the major livestock species.
- List and discuss the major environmental regulations affecting livestock producelirs.
- Describe dietary strategies to reduce nutrient excretion in each of the major livestock species.
- Meet state requirements to serve as a certified nutrient management plan writer.
