Agronomy Internship with Deerfield Farms Service, Inc

Goal:
Deerfield's internship program is designed to provide a positive learning environment and in-depth educational experience to students pursing a career in the agricultural industry. Our goal is to provide the intern with insight into the many facets of our growing business.
Internship Duration:
3 Months, Mid May through late August
Description of internship:
Intern will assist the manager of a full-service, agronomic-based business in western Pennsylvania with the many aspects of the operation. Intern's time will be spent assisting at the facility, as well as with producers through on-farm visits.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
- Scout client's agronomic crops
- Prepare recommendations in consultation with our agronomist
- Take and process soil samples
- Product delivery and support of custom applicators
- Assist with equipment and facilities maintenance
- Perform inventory audits
- Assist in grain handling / grain grading operations
Qualifications:
Sophomore standing or latter in agronomy, ag business, farm management or related field. Farm experience, computer knowledge, and strong communication skills helpful. Valid driver’s license with good driving record necessary. Must be able to work independently and as a team.

Compensation:
Hourly rate of pay to be determined upon consideration.
